Pool Opening
Maintenance & Start-Up for Pools with Nature 2
Start-Up Instructions
- Remove the winter cover being careful not to get debris in the pool.
- Attach the wall skimmer and replace gaskets (if needed).
- Connect filter system to the wall skimmer and water return.
- Fill the pool with garden hose to the fill line located on the skimmer door.
- Use Allied Tile & Liner Cleaner to clean the liner if needed.
- Vacuum pool.
- Run your filter continuously for 12 hours.
- Balance the pH and alkalinity of the water.
- Insert the new Nature 2 cartridge (MUST be replaced every spring).
- Dissolve Conditioner / Stabilizer in hot water and pour through the skimmer with the pump running (for sand or DE filters, do not backwash filter for 24 hours).
- Add Zappit directly to the pool with the filter running.
- Add algaecide if needed.
- Run filter for 48 hours keeping chlorine levels at least 3ppm (more Zappit may need to be added to maintain the high chlorine level).
- After initial 48 hours, maintain chlorine levels at .5ppm – 1ppm by keeping a SuperStick in the skimmer basket. (Typically one stick every 4-5 days).
- Customers with the Nature 2 / Zodiac Pro A Feeder: Completely fill the “Z” Tab chamber. Chlorine levels should be maintained at .5ppm – 1ppm.
Weekly
- Test water with Aquacheck Test Strips and balance pH and alkalinity as needed.
- Keep a Super Stick in the skimmer basket (approximately one stick every 4-5 days)
- Nature 2 Zodiac Pro A Feeder - Refill the “Z” Tab chamber as needed. Chlorine levels should be maintained at .5ppm – 1ppm.
- Run your filter system 10-12 hours every day.
NOTE:
During extreme heat or heavy rain, additional super sticks may be needed.

Maintenance & Start-Up for Gentle Swim, Softswim, Revacil, and Baquacil Pools
Start-Up Instructions
- Remove the winter cover being careful not to get debris in the pool.
- Attach the wall skimmer and replace gaskets (if needed).
- Connect filter system to the wall skimmer and water return.
- Fill the pool with garden hose to the fill line located on the skimmer door.
- Use Off The Wall or Allied Tile & Liner Cleaner to clean the liner if needed.
- Vacuum pool.
- Run your filter continuously for 12 hours.
- Balance the pH and alkalinity of the water.
- Add the proper amount of chemicals based on the chart below.
Weekly
- Test water with Aquacheck Test Strips and balance pH and alkalinity as needed.
- Add Allied A at the rate of 5oz per 10,000 gallons weekly.
- Add Gentle Swim Sanitizer as needed. (Test with test strip weekly)
- Add Gentle Swim Oxidizer Plus at the rate of 1lb per 10,000 gallons weekly.
- Run your filter system 10 – 12 hours daily.
