Pool Closing

• Vacuum pool and balance ph, alkalinity, and hardness accordingly.
• Add the required amount of closing chemicals based on size of pool and chemical system. For Nature 2 and chlorine-based systems use a 20K or 10K winter kit depending on the pool size. Gentle Swim see Winter Shutdown instructions.
• Run the filter system for 24-48 hours.
• Drain your pool 6 to 8 inches below your return jet. (Be sure to avoid draining pool on lawn)
• Tie or anchor the appropriate number of winter pillows in the center of your pool.
• Cover pool with your winter cover making sure it will be secure in high winds
• Read the following carefully for instructions on winterizing your specific filter system

D.E. Filters

• Soak D.E. filter fingers or grids in Allied Filter Cleaner for 24 hours.
• Rinse fingers with a garden hose.
• It is recommended to bring your filter system indoors for winter.

Sand Filters

• Carefully flush all sand out of the sand tank.
• It is recommended to bring your filter system indoors for winter.

Element Filters

• Hose off cartridge with a garden hose.
• Soak entire cartridge in Allied Filter Cleaner for 24 hours.
• Rinse cartridge with a garden hose.
• It is recommended to bring your filter system indoors for winter
